Geoffrey Seber joined Albany Law School in 2017, bringing
with him nearly 18 years of experience in higher education
in the field of advancement, with strong focus on Alumni
Relations programming. Geoff manages Albany Law School’s
alumni engagement efforts, including programs and institutional
events, and leads the activities and initiatives of the
National Alumni Association.
Geoff most recently was Manager of Alumni Programs in the
Office of Alumni Relations at Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute in Troy, N.Y. In this role Geoff led a team
of professionals focused on on-campus programming and
engagement, which included student-alumni initiatives,
reunion and homecoming events and rebranding, career
and professional services for alumni, social media engagement,
and campus-based affinity programs primarily with Greek
life, student organizations, and athletics. Geoff has
a strong background working closely with boards and organizations,
teaming with members to broaden engagement programs and
services. He also has extensive experience in strategic
and event planning. Geoff has been a part of two capital
campaigns, playing a key role in their planning, initiatives,
and implementation of launch-programming and events.
Geoff has been recognized both regionally and nationally
for his professional work. He has received several honors
from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education
(CASE), including: CASE ASAP District 2 Advisor of the
Year; multiple CASE National Awards for best overall
student-alumni organization for his work with the RPI
Red & White Student Organization, student philanthropy,
and fundraising programs; and the 2005 CASE Rising Star
Award, presented to only one person in the Northeast
annually for innovative programming. Geoff was also part
of the team that received a CASE District 2 Gold Award
and CASE National Silver Award for standout use of social
media around the RPi Day one-day giving campaign, a program
that utilized YouTube for personalized thank you videos
and Twitter to build overall engagement. In 2013, Geoff
was named the Pillar of Rensselaer, the highest and most
prestigious award presented by Rensselaer Polytechnic
Institute to a member of the staff. Additionally, Geoff
helped to author the chapter “Alum101: Programs for Senior
Class” in
Lasting Impressions: Laying the Foundation for Engaged
and Philanthropic Future Alumni (CASE 2016).
Geoff is a member of the Capital District Football Officials
Association, officiating football at all levels in the
Capital District.
